An extra date has been added to the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour 2009 this morning (November 19) after the first Glasgow date sold out.

Tickets for the show in headliners Glasvegas' home city on January 30 are all gone, so the tour - which also features Friendly Fires, White Lies and Florence And The Machine - will play a second night at the Glasgow Academy on January 31.

Tickets are on sale for all shows now.

I think if we can manage to fill up this page with irate comments they just might listen. WHY THE HELL AREN'T YOU COMING TO IRELAND THIS YEAR?!?!? We really want to see a Dublin show over here and I'm pretty sure our brothers up north are thinking the same thing. Please NME...

wow... cant these bands play a long tour.. last year was bigger and better,, no leicester!!! disgrace, instead of ading extra dates in same city just add extra bloody venues..

I agree seeb123, The line up for this year is appalling. Ireland should be thankful these bands aren't coming over. Glasvegas stink and the lead singer was a total idiot on nevermind the buzzcocks.

Relax one and all. There will be a Dublin date in the Ambassador and night in Belfast the following night. Both will precede all the listed shows above.
